Currently preparing a discussion paper on issues to be managed when members of developed economies try to work with members of subsistence economies to invent usable products and projects.
I am interested in stories of success or frustration in attempts to co-create in
groups that span cultural and especially economic conditions. When a designer
from a developed economy tries to design a product or project for people in a
subsistence economy, are they able to honor and utilize knowledge of local
experts? What approaches maximize the creative potential of their
interaction/collaboration?
