Dear Christopher,

I am sad, very sad. I am one of the persons whom Moe offered his friendship.
It is hard for me to accept that he has passed away.

I translated into Romanian his nice "Making the Point", happily answering
his suggestion, and used to send him contributions for the yearly volume
Creativity's Global Correspondents. Moe visited my country, and me in 1996,
and I treasure that week as one of the most rewarding and special experience
in my entire life. I was happy to find, in Romania, under the communism
regime, one copy (the only one existing in the country at that time) of his
"Stimulating Creativity", in two volumes, and sometimes I surprised Moe with
my detailed knowledge of what he had written in the book. Then he gave me
the "Creativity and the Individual" that became one of my basic source of
information.

Beyond my deep respect for his work and mind, I felt him as a human, as a
close friend of me, and my family (for example, he mailed gifts to my
daughter when my grandnephew was born). He introduced me to Morton Deutsch,
he was any time ready to involve himself in my research projects, mentored
me, and wrote for me several formal recommendations, when I needed. However,
to mention here all the facts that Morris Stein did and impressed me, facts
that now are arousing deep sadness in my soul, would take many pages.

Dear Christopher, my English is poor enough to know if you say any specific
phrase in such moments, but in Romanian we pray "Dumnezeu sa-l ierte", -
"Let's God forgive him". I know that this is an Orthodox practice, and Moe
was Jewish, but this is what I am feeling, and Moe was a human, a great
human beyond the religions.

Thank you for letting me know, and God bless you, all. I can't stop crying.
